A C-Section birth | Kennewick WA birth photographer

I get a lot of people asking me what my policy is if their baby arrives via c/section”.  In our area, while possible, it seems unlikely that I’m allowed in the O.R during delivery but I try to emphasize to my prospective clients that birth photography isn’t just about capturing “the first breath”. Even if I’m not able to capture the actual birth part of the process, however that little one enters the world, there is a lot more to the day to document. After this experience I would actually say that having a birth photographer at your c/section birth is probably that much more important. There is a lot that happens before baby gets a snuggle from mama, without her even being in the room… first bath,  (in this case) first bottle… I’m happy to say I was able to capture all that for her when she couldn’t be there to see it.

And with her permission I’m sharing their big day along with part of her latest message to me:

“… Please let me know if you need me to act as a reference for any other moms who are having a c-section. I’d be glad to tell them how wonderful of an experience this was! I didn’t know everything i was missing while they were stitching me up. What a fantastic story you tell with your photographs, i’m so honored to have this as part of our family history! Thank you, thank you!!”

So very glad to have this day captured. I think the most precious pic to me is the last one. Just myself, my husband and baby. The three of us spent the whole day together focused on our little one starting at that very moment.

  3. These are absolutely beautiful Aga. Nice job.
